One of the best ways is to invest in educating the city's youth and to motivate them to stay and build a better Cleveland. Another is to revitalize its neighborhoods. Zaremba has been a pioneer in building neighborhoods aimed at revitalizing the City of Cleveland with its Woodhaven and MillCreek developments. Zaremba's newest and most ambitious projects are the $300 million The Avenue District, with over 650 housing units scheduled to be built in Downtown Cleveland, and the soon-to-be-developed Uptown in University Circle.

Now, we'd like to combine these efforts. We'll be working with local businesses to raise money through The Avenue District to create a Bright Avenues Scholarship Fund. A donation will be made to the Cleveland Scholarship Program, which will administer the fund.

Our goal is simple: Help keep the best and brightest Cleveland Metropolitan School District graduates in the area by rewarding these exceptional students with economic assistance in obtaining a post-high school degree at Northeast Ohio colleges and universities.

We believe that this effort will assist in overcoming the "brain drain", the luring away of educated young people from our region. It will also provide the opportunity to earn a college degree that might not otherwise be afforded.

There are many ways to get involved with Bright Avenues.

• Make private donations to the fund
• Provide matching funds
• Purchase one of the fifth floor units of The Avenue District and furnish and decorate it for the length of the tour
• Participate in The Avenue District's Grand Opening Sponsor or partner with us in silent auctions of art, furniture and accessories
• Donate appropriate products, such as furniture and wall-coverings, or professional services such as those of interior designers and decorators
• Sponsor other events and donate the proceeds to the Scholarship Fund Plan special events such as company parties or organization meetings that include touring the fifth floor homes
• Provide volunteers to host the home tours
• Plan and hold patron parties
• Promote the tour to the public by donating free advertising or editorial space
