INSIDE THE AVENUE - An inside look at the people bringing Clevelands first walkable downtown neighborhood to life.

Joe Del Re Q&A

New Projects Coordinator, Zaremba

Joe Del Re, new projects coordinator at Zaremba, works closely with landowners, city officials, neighbors and other developers to put together the next generation of Zaremba communities. Del Re is a downtown resident, and a key player in Cleveland’s revitalization.

What makes The Avenue District Cleveland’s premier walkable neighborhood?
The Avenue District is located within minutes of Cleveland’s top destination locations, whether it be arts, entertainment, shopping or dining. Some of my personal favorites include E. 4th Street, The Galleria and Playhouse Square, but nothing tops playing my guitar on Burnham Mall in the summer, or watching the sun set from the E. 9th Street Pier.

Plus, with planned E. 12th Street renovations, The Avenue District will truly be pedestrian friendly, with convenient access to retail establishments and the 400-plus lofts, penthouses and townhomes throughout the neighborhood.

Who can find their perfect home at The Avenue District?
We’ve had great interest and response from artists, young professionals and empty nesters, but anyone who can appreciate the benefits of a true urban lifestyle will love living at The Avenue District.

Why is Cleveland a great place to work and live?
Cleveland is a great midsized city, with access to world-class arts, entertainment, dining, healthcare and higher education.

According to a recent article in The New Yorker, roughly one out of every six American workers commutes more than forty-five minutes each way to work. For Clevelanders working downtown already, that’s an hour and half each day that could be spent with family and friends soaking in the arts and cultural of downtown Cleveland, and enjoying a more vibrant lifestyle.

To me, the real question is, why wouldn’t you live downtown?

CLEVELANDS GROWING ARTS COMMUNITY

Right next door to The Avenue District, you’ll find a newly named Cleveland neighborhood steeped in arts and cultural. Artists’ studios, galleries, bistros and live-work spaces fill the Cleveland Art Quarter, which will be framed by Lake Erie, Euclid Avenue and East 18th and East 40th streets.

Check out this April 16 article from Jesse Tinsley of The Plain Dealer to learn more about Cleveland’s growing arts community.
