Fed Pumps Trillions Into Economy; Mortgage Rates Drop

Yesterday, 30-year fixed mortgage rates fell to 4.98 percent, the lowest rate since mid-January of this year. The fall came the day after the Federal Reserve said it will pump $1.2 trillion into mortgage markets in an effort to lower rates on mortgages and loosen credit, according to an article by the Associated Press.
